Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Friendly, professional staff everywhere in each department. From the valet to the front desk to the bell desk to the housekeeping, as well as the eateries and restaurant, everyone was very friendly, courteous, professional, and helpful. Comfortable room also. Overall, it was a really nice stay and a really nice place.
Negative: I didn't like that there was so strong of a smoke smell throughout the casino level and main floor. There were sections marked Smoking and sections marked Non-smoking but they were literally side by side with no barriers and no way to avoid the strong smell. If you have asthma or any other lung issues, this probably wouldn't be the place for you. It hit me relatively quick with tightness in the chest and a mild cough but then again I am not a smoker and I deal with allergy asthma issues. It would have been nice if Borgata would have had actual separation by rooms, walls, or glass with strong ventilation for the smoking sections. This was the biggest downfall. The only other thing that was slightly disappointing was that during the week, room service was only available between 7 am and 12 noon and then was unavailable until 5 pm. So if you slept in late you missed out if you wanted room service. That certainly wasn't a deal breaker though. Just a minor inconvenience.
